Frequently asked
What is insider ownership?
It refers to the share of stock held by insiders relative to all shares outstanding. Insiders are, for example, the management board, founders or the supervisory board.
How do you interpret a high insider stake?
It can suggest an alignment of interests between leadership and shareholders. At the same time it is worth checking how much freely tradable free float actually remains.
Why is a high insider stake not only positive?
Strong control can go hand in hand with low accountability and low liquidity. A high stake is therefore not automatically a good sign.
